Annihilation and Ex Machina filmmaker Alex Garland will once again team with A24 for his next big feature, Men. According to sources, Garland has tapped Jessie Buckley (I'm Thinking of Ending Things, Fargo) and Rory Kinnear (No TIme to Die, Penny Dreadful) to star, though Buckley's deal has yet to be completed. That being said, reports indicate that things are looking good for Buckley's involvement. Garland will direct the film in addition to writing the script, which follows a young woman who goes on a solo vacation to the English countryside after the death of her ex-husband.
Garland will be working alongside some familiar faces on his next big feature, such as Scott Rudin, who produced his previous projects. This dynamic duo will also be joined by Eli Bush, DNA's Andrew McDonald, and Allon Reich for the purpose of producing the filmmaker's next opus. Men represents Garland's first directorial effort since blowing the minds of millions with his 2018 science-fiction spectacle Annihilation. Whether or not Men will contain any existential sci-fi elements remains to be seen, though I wouldn't be surprised if the film ends up being about more than just a much-needed holiday amidst the hills and valleys of English splendor.
