Mel Gibson, Dermot Mulroney, Katherine McNamara join spy thriller Agent Game

Per Deadline, Dermot Mulroney (Prodigal Son), Katherine McNamara (Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments), Rhys Coiro (The Walking Dead), Annie Ilonzeh (Peppermint), and Mel Gibson (Boss Level) are slated to join the cast of Agent Game, a spy thriller set to be directed by Grant S. Johnson (Nighthawks) and written by Mike Langer and Tyler W. Konney.

Agent Game will find Dermot Mulroney starring as Harris, a CIA officer "involved in missions to detain and relocate foreign nationals for interrogation. When a political shift in Washington turns his allies into enemies, Harris finds himself the scapegoat for a detainee’s murder and must run from a team of operatives sent to bring him in (Katherine McNamara and Rhys Coiro), led by a ruthless double agent (Annie Ilonzeh)." Mel Gibson will play the smaller role of the intelligence official running the unsanctioned covert operation to hunt down the disgraced spy.

While we're talking Mel Gibson, the actor can currently be seen starring alongside Frank Grillo in Boss Level, a sci-fi/action film that was released today on Hulu. The film centers around a former special forces agent (Grillo) caught in a never-ending time-loop who must hunt down the powerful head of the government program (Gibson) behind the temporal anomaly. Our own Chris Bumbray recently reviewed Boss Level, and called it "probably the best legit American action film in many moons." You can check out the rest of Bumbray's review right here.
