Being invisible sounds like a pretty awesome superpower to have, but when it's something you can't control and you remain unseen by anyone for most of your life, that power may begin to seem like a curse. In the new movie ABOVE THE SHADOWS a woman named Holly (Olivia Thirlby, JUNO, DREAD), who has been invisible to everyone ever since her mother died, soon meets the one man who can see her, Shayne (Alan Ritchson, TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: OUT OF THE SHADOWS), and must help him with his own life if she is to have any chance of regaining her old one. Directed and written by Claudia Myers (WILD OATS, FORT BLISS) and also starring Jim Gaffigan, Tito Ortiz, David Johansen and more, and finds Holly helping Shayne out as rises back up the ranks of MMA glory.
Here's a synopsis:
A supernatural tale that follows a young woman (Olivia Thirlby) who has faded from the world to the point of becoming invisible. After more than a decade existing in the shadows, Holly meets the one man who can see her, Shayne Blackwell (Alan Ritchson), a disgraced MMA fighter. Holly discovers that it was one of her tabloid photographs that caused his downfall, and that she must restore him to his former glory if she wants to regain a foothold in the world around her. With Shayne, Holly awakens to love but also to the possibility that she may remain invisible forever.
