Meet the mutants of The Gifted with nine new video promos

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

Soon, Fox's X-MEN-related TV series, THE GIFTED, will arrive, and introduce fans of comic book entertainment to a group of new mutants. I've had my eye on this program since its inception, and now that promotional materials are beginning to roll out, it's been rather interesting to see how it's shaping up. Today, the show's official Twitter account tweeted out nine new video shorts, as a way of introducing us all to the mutant cast of THE GIFTED.

If you're unfamiliar with the concept for the upcoming show, THE GIFTED focuses on a family who goes on the run from a hostile government agency, when parents Reed (Stephen Moyer) and Kate (Amy Acker) Stewart learn their children have mutant abilities. With the help of an underground network of mutant rebels —including Blink (Jamie Chung), Thunderbird (Blair Redford), and Polaris (Emma Dumont)— the Stewart kids will need to learn how to master their "gifts" … or else. Dun dun dunnn!

Here's a collection of the character intro videos:

Jamie Chung plays Blink, a mutant with the ability to teleport through portals.

Emma Dumont stars as the Mistress of Magnetism (and daughter of Magneto), Polaris.

Stephen Moyer will step into the role of District Attorney Reed Strucker.

Amy Acker will play Caitlin Strucker, mother of the two mutant children on the run.

Natalie Alyn Lind is Lauren, a mutant trying to escape an evil organization with her family in-tow.

Percy Hynes White will play Lauren's brother, Andy.

Filling out the rest of the cast we have Blair Redford as John Proudstar/Thunderbird.

Sean Teale as Marcos Diaz/Eclipse

And finally, Coby Bell as Agent Turner.

Whoa! Since when was inherent beauty a part of the X-gene? Where are all the funky-looking mutants with scaly skin or jagged teeth? But I digress, THE GIFTED will premiere its pilot episode during this year's San Diego Comic Con event, with its television premiere set for Monday, Oct. 2 at 9 p.m. ET on Fox. Despite these promos looking akin to a collection of Abercombie & Fitch ads, I'm still totally on-board to check this show out when it hits.

What about you? Are you excited for THE GIFTED? Which one of these promos has you the most interested in learning more about that character? Let us know in the comments section below!
