We're less than a month away from checking out RED STATE director Kevin Smith's latest horror tale TUSK as it is set to arrive in theaters on September 19. We've already seen some images and a pretty groovy trailer for the body-horror tale that stars Justin Long as a man who is surgically turned into a walrus by a mysterious seafarer (Michael Parks). Today we have a new piece of artwork that introduces us to another character in the film: the eccentric French Canadian detective Guy LaPointe.
There has long been speculation that Guy LaPointe would be played by Johnny Depp, and the rumor seemed to find confirmation in the recent news that Depp would be portraying the detective in Smith's upcoming spinoff film YOGA-HOSERS. Now we're getting our first look at LaPointe in TUSK and we've learned that he'll be played by noneother than…Guy LaPointe? Yeah…check it out:
Ok, we get it. Smith and company are just playing with us. Of course that's Depp. It's pretty much a given, right? Still, it's pretty hilarious to see that Guy LaPointe is played by 'Guy LaPointe'…that just fits in so well with Smith's sense of humor about his work.
Also starring Haley Joel Osment and Genesis Rodriguez, TUSK is…
…a modern-day monster movie that follows a journalist named Wallace (Long) who finds the story of a lifetime in Mr. Howe (Parks), a worldwide adventurer with amazing tales and a curious penchant for walruses.
Guy LaPointe begins his investigation when TUSK hits theaters on September 19.
