Meat Train delayed

Last Updated on July 27, 2021

A few sites have taken to reporting that Ryuhei Kitamura’s THE MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN will depart from its originally intended date, May 16, and has now be relegated to “to be determined” hell… While this hasn’t been 100% confirmed by the studio, as far as I know, it makes a load of sense, since dumping it in the middle of the most popular movie-going month might not have been a great tactic (no, not even as counter-programming).

Lionsgate would probably be wise to send this flick to the Fall, but let’s first see if this is just a date change, or if it’s indicative of a bigger problem – namely, a crappy film. I surely hope not, because it certainly looks promising (check out the trailer below!). Keep your fingers crossed that this isn’t just the first in a series of moves straight toward DVD for the creepshow.

In case you didn’t know, the film, based on the Clive Barker short story, is about a New York photographer (Bradley Cooper) who discovers the lair of a brutal serial killer known as “Mahogany” (Vinnie Jones).
