McLendon-Covey, Jeong, and Parnell sign on for Goosebumps 2

Sony is continuing to assemble its sequel to 2015's family friendly, R.L. Stine-inspired GOOSEBUMPS movie under a veil of secrecy. Although we've heard that the studio had two separate possible sequels in the works, they're still not saying if the one they're moving forward with is GOOSEBUMPS: SLAPPY'S REVENGE, which would center on the evil ventriloquist dummy from the first movie, or GOOSEBUMPS: HORRORLAND, which would be set in

HorrorLand, a vast theme park which R.L. Stine describes as “the scariest place on Earth.”

Or if there's another option we haven't heard about yet.

We do know that Jack Black, who played Goosebumps author R.L. Stine and provided the voice of Slappy in the first movie, is supposed to be back in some capacity, and that he will have some child actor co-stars: Madison Iseman, Ben O'Brien, Caleel Harris, and Jeremy Ray Taylor.

Now a trio of adult co-stars have been added into the mix, and each of them is a popular comedic actor: Wendi McLendon-Covey, Ken Jeong, and Chris Parnell. It will be interesting to see if any of them will have run-ins with creatures from Stine's books.

Directed by Ari Sandel, the GOOSEBUMPS sequel will

focus on iconic characters and storylines featured in the “Goosebumps” series.

The movie is set to be released in theatres on October 12th, so we'll know all of its secrets in just seven months.
