Paramount+ is letting the network’s Mayor of Kingstown Season 2 trailer out of its cell this afternoon. Debuting exclusively on the streaming service in the U.S. and Canada on January 15, the drama starring Academy Award nominee Jeremy Renner (Mystic River, Hawkeye) continues to bring the issues of systemic racism, corruption, and inequality to the forefront.
From co-creator and Academy Award nominee Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, Mayor of Kingstown follows the McLusky family, power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan, where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry. The series holds a cracked mirror to the horror of society, providing a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town with neither. The series also stars Hugh Dillon (Flashpoint, Yellowstone), Taylor Handley (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, Vegas), Emma Laird (A Haunting in Venice, The Crowded Room), Tobi Bamtefa (Lucky Man, The Witcher), Derek Webster (Godzilla, Independence Day), Nishi Munshi (Lethal Weapon, The Originals), Hamish Allan-Headley (Going Away Party, Warriors of Virtue), and Aidan Gillen (The Dark Knight Rises, Game of Thrones).
Produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions, Mayor of Kingstown is executive produced by Sheridan, Dillon, Renner, Antoine Fuqua, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Dave Erickson, Regina Corrado, and Stephen Kay.
The Mayor of Kingstown Season 2 trailer previews the latest addition to Sheridan’s growing slate on Paramount+, which includes 1883, Tulsa King, and the upcoming series 1923, which premieres on Sunday, December 18. Lioness and Land Man are on the way as well.
In the Mayor of Kingstown Season 2 trailer, Renner’s McLusky concocts a plan to quell unrest from the inside out. Unsure of who his allies are, McLusky keeps all cards close to his chest as the seams of order unravel around him. Running a family business involves enormous pressure, but what happens when the job requires sacrifice, murder, and double-crossing the double-crossers? With walls coming down on all sides, there won’t be anywhere for McLusky to hide before chaos boils over and he’s left holding the pot.
