Well this is surprisingly awesome news! We have reports that Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass are in talks to return for their third Bourne movie, which would place fifth in the series. Now there could be some interesting behind-the-scenes drama here as the film would take the summer 2016 release date that was already given to THE BOURNE LEGACY sequel set to be directed by Justin Lin and star Jeremy Renner.
Back in May we shared what Damon had to say about a possible reunion:
"I've always been open to it if Paul Greengrass is the director. We've just never been able to come up with a story… It felt like such a good way to end it last time. Having said that, I love that character. I'd love to see what happened to him."
No one is commenting at this point but we will be sure to keep you posted. The Legacy sequel is said to still be in the works but will be released after the new Damon film. I'm very happy right now, I love these movies and the prospect of this reunion actually happening makes me want to run to my movie shelf and get the marathon ready!
We're all happy about this right?
