A couple weeks ago, Netflix announced that the second half of Masters of the Universe: Revelation‘s ten episode first season will be available to watch on the streaming service on November 23rd. Now the trailer for these five new episodes has been released online and can be seen in the embed above. In the second half of this season, the villainous Skeletor has become so powerful that he’s now referred to as Skelegod… but he still faces some strong competition from our heroes. And he’s not the only one taking on a new form.
As the trailer reveals, when Prince Adam calls on the Power of Greyskull without the Sword of Power he becomes Savage He-Man, which Mattel describes as “a combination of primal rage and all of the power in the universe – the raw fury, the brutal strength, and the unbridled speed of ten He-Men! But without the Sword of Power to temper these mighty forces, Savage He-Man is all strength with no intellect to control it. The barbarian version of our hero leaves his friends wondering if Adam is truly present within the transformed beast, as he tears through Eternia in an uncontrolled frenzy. Luckily, Adam at his core possesses innate compassion, humility, and goodness that rivals the Power of Grayskull itself.” Savage He-Man is an homage to the barbarian He-Man featured in the mini-comics that accompanied the Masters of the Universe toys in the 1980s.
Envisioned as a follow-up to the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe series from the ’80s, the first half of Masters of the Universe: Revelation has the following synopsis:
The war for Eternia culminates in MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE: REVELATION, an innovative and action-packed animated series that picks up where the iconic characters left off decades ago. After a cataclysmic battle between He-Man and Skeletor, Eternia is fractured and the Guardians of Grayskull are scattered. And after decades of secrets tore them apart, it’s up to Teela to reunite the broken band of heroes, and solve the mystery of the missing Sword of Power in a race against time to restore Eternia and prevent the end of the universe.
