Masters’ 2 Guns

“Brotherhood” creator, Blake Masters will make 2 GUNS for Universal. The film is a combination of every single cop movie ever made in the last thirty years. Here is what THR is saying about it:

“Guns,” written by Steven Grant with art by Mat Santolouco, follows a DEA agent and an undercover naval intelligence officer who are unwittingly investigating each other and who steal mob money for the good guys. They realize later that the mob actually got them to swipe $50 million from the CIA. The project aims to be a throwback to classic ’80s buddy cop movies in the vein of “Lethal Weapon” and “48 HRS.,” but with a modern spin.

I think that a cool way to make this more original would be to have it be a DEA agent and an undercover navel intelligence officer. You don’t get many movies where the lead is an expert at belly-buttons. Often, I wonder why I am not yet an A-list screenwriter/innovator. Because seriously, I came up with that in like six hours. Seven, tops.
