With STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER serving as the culmination of the entire nine-film Skywalker Saga which began all those years ago, it's only natural that there should be a massive box-set so fans can buy these films for the hundredth time. According to a listing which briefly showed up on Best Buy Canada, Disney/Lucasfilm is planning to release a 27-disc 4K Ultra HD box-set of The Skywalker Saga on March 31, 2020. That's a lot of STAR WARS.
The packaging seen above is likely for a Best Buy exclusive release, so the regular box-set may look different. Keep in mind that nothing official has been announced regarding this box-set, but the release date of March 31st is likely when STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER will be hitting home-media, so it's a good bet that this box-set is legit. ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY and SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY won't be included as they're not a part of the Skywalker Saga. Before the listing was removed, Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga box-set was listed at $329.99, which would be in Canadian dollars.
The Digital Bits has a little more information about the box-set which explains how the 27-discs are broken down. The box-set will include all nine films on Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD, but each film will also include a bonus disc of special features. As for what these special features will consist of, it's too early to say, but it'd be nice if they included everything released thus far plus a few more goodies.
STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER hits theaters on December 20th, so be sure to check out a review from our own Matt Rooney!
