The upcoming Heroes re-launch, Heroes Reborn, has finally nabbed another original cast member. Deadline reports that Masi Oka, who caught his big break on the show, will return to the world of Heroes for a guest-starring arc on Heroes Reborn. Somewhere Jack Coleman breathes a sigh of relief that he won’t be the only original cast member on board this thing.
Masi Oka's character of Hiro Nakamura was one of the great standouts of Heroes and getting him back is a pretty big deal for this revival. Oka seems like he’s looking forward to returning:
I’m excited to return to my Heroes roots, Hiro Nakamura was such an inspirational role to play, and I’m hoping the fans will enjoy seeing him back on TV.
It’s interesting to note that the Masi Oka will not be one of the leads but will have a “guest-starring arc” instead. Better than no Hiro at all I guess. I'm not sure what they have planned but clearly creator Tim Kring knows that they need some of those fan-favourite characters to get the fans interested again:
The character of Hiro Nakamura was such a huge part of the first series’ success, and a gigantic fan favorite. We felt the fans would really love seeing him back in action again.
Heroes Reborn will see Masi Oka reuniting with Jack Coleman as well as new heroes/villains played by Zachary Levi, Ryan Guzman, Danika Yarosh, Robbie Kay, Judith Shekoni, Kiki Sukezane, Henry Zebrowski, and Gatlin Green. The 13 episode event series will premiere this fall on NBC.
