Mary Shelley’s Monster snares Sophie Turner & Taissa Farmiga

Not sure this will quite pan out as AITH worthy, but what the hell…

Deadline has it that Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner (above) has just been cast as the titular lead in MARY SHELLEY'S MONSTER, a thrilling dramatization of the Frankenstein authoress' life. Coky Giedroyc (The Killing, Penny Dreadful) will direct from a script by Deborah Baxtrom.

Mary Shelley’s Monster tracks the young writer as she writes her seminal novel and is drawn into a Faustian bargain with her own “monster” of an alter ego, who offers literary fame at a desperate personal cost."

Also cast is Jeremy Irvine (WAR HORSE), who will play Percy Shelley, and Taissa Farmiga (American Horror Story, seen below), who will play Mary's stepsister Clair Clairmont.

Here's what producer Rose Ganguzza told the trade about the project:

The story of the most extraordinary 19th century teenage heroine told in a visceral, sexy, contemporary way…Our film is not a period drama. It is a story of youth that transcends time, a gothic romance, a love triangle that involves a dark passenger and we are tremendously excited to have such an exciting cast onboard this wonderful project.”

Like I said, not sure this will play as ferociously as us Arrow in the Headers want, but we can hope, right? What says you?

MARY SHELLEY'S MONSTER will film later this year in the UK and Malta.
