Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein TV series reimagining is in development

Stone Village Television and BlackBox Multimedia have announced that they're working together to develop a premium television series inspired by Mary Shelley's classic novel Frankenstein.

Bradley McManus is scripting the "reimagining", which will be set in Europe and 

focuses on the behaviors and obsessions of a scientist exploring the fine thread between life and death — all set against the context of a year in which dependence on scientific breakthroughs has been paramount.

That's all the information we have on this project at the moment, but we'll keep you updated on the small screen Frankenstein as it moves forward.

The last time we shared news about a Frankenstein TV series, it was going to be a CBS show starring Ryan Phillippe as a cop who returns from the dead and seeks help from Dr. Victor Frankenstein – while undoubtedly continuing to solve crimes every week. Apparently that show didn't make it past the pilot stage. Here's hoping this show will have better luck, and won't have a dead man solving crimes.
