When Marvel's RUNAWAYS return in December of this year, they'll be … well, on the run. After leaving their homes (and evil parents) behind the wayward team have been forced to learn and live on their own. As they scavenge for food, search for shelter, and take care of one another, the kids begin to realize that, for better or worse, they’re stuck with each other. And it’s up to them to take down PRIDE once and for all. However, someone sent a mysterious message to Jonah… Is there a mole in the Runaways? Meanwhile PRIDE is focused on finding their children, and Jonah has his own dangerous plan in mind. Dun dun dunnnn!
Season 2 of Hulu and Marvel's breakout comic book adventure television series stars Rhenzy Feliz, Lyrica Okano, Virginia Gardner, Ariela Barer, Gregg Sulkin, Allegra Acosta, Annie Wersching, Ryan Sands, Angel Parker, Ever Carradine, James Marsters, Kevin Weisman, Brigid Brannagh, James Yaegashi, Brittany Ishibashi, Kip Pardue, and Julian McMahon.
Producing the show are series showrunners/writers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage (THE O.C., GOSSIP GIRL) alongside Marvel's Head of Television Jeph Loeb, with Fake Empire's Lis Rowinski producing as well.
Despite being one of Marvel's lesser known properties at the time, RUNAWAYS took fans both new and old by surprise with its unique interpretation of the original source material created by writer Brian K. Vaughan and artist Adrian Alphona. Rather than deliver the same story that fans fell in love with back in 2003, Marvel's RUNAWAYS expands on nearly every aspect of the core story, with an additional focus on the private lives of the PRIDE parents in particular. In my opinion, the show is emotional, engaging, and damn does it have a great soundtrack. Seriously, when LCD Soundsystem's "Oh, Baby" started playing, I lost my damn mind, y'all. Here's hoping that Season 2 takes the show to new heights!
Marvel's RUNAWAYS will return to Hulu beginning on December 21st. While you're waiting, check out this sweet new key art that was released alongside the new trailer:
