We've got some marvelous news, True Believers! Marvel's WandaVision release date is finally set for January 15, 2021 on Disney+!
WandaVision is a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany)—two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems. The new series is directed by Matt Shakman; Jac Schaeffer is head writer.
In addition to Olsen and Bettany, WandaVision will also star Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, a character who was introduced as a child in CAPTAIN MARVEL, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Randall Park as FBI agent Jimmy Woo, and Kathryn Hahn as a "nosy neighbor." During San Diego Comic-Con last year, Olsen teased that WandaVision is "gonna get weird," adding that "we're gonna go deep, we're gonna have lots of surprises, and we're gonna finally understand Wanda Maximoff as the Scarlet Witch."
Previously, MCU fans were under the impression that WandaVision would launch sometime in December. However, as time ticked on and Disney/Marvel remained as quiet as the Inhuman king Black Bolt, doubt began to settle in. While we won't be seeing WandaVision until early next year, it sure does feel amazing to finally have a solid release date, no? In short, be sure to cancel any plans you may have for that evening because the first of several Marvel-related series is about to get weird on Disney+ on January 15. Bring it on, Marvel, we're more than ready!
