Looks like James Gunn wasn't fibbing a few months ago when he said Marvel Studio won't be at San Diego Comic-Con 2015; Deadline has learned Marvel won't have a major presence at this year's SDCC, confirming part of our spoilery Marvel report from earlier this year. The reason why is pretty simple: Kevin Feige and company just don't have anything new to show at the event.
But it's not all bad news from Deadline: the site also says they've heard Warner Bros. will be holding a "significant presentation" to introduce Zack Snyder's BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE and David Ayer's SUICIDE SQUAD, which are both due in theaters next year. While SUICIDE SQUAD is still filming, it is possible a teaser trailer could be screened during SDCC 15, and a new BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE trailer will more than likely also premiere at the event.
Are you bummed that Marvel won't be at SDCC 15, or do you think Warner Bros. will make up for Marvel's absence with their presentation?
The next Marvel Studios film to be released will be ANT-MAN on July 17, 2015, and BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE opens on March 25, 2016.
