It's been rumored Marvel wants to create a television series about Hayley Atwell's Agent Peggy Carter from CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER, and Atwell has said in the past that she'd definitely be interested in starring in a potential series. Now Marvel is going to be shooting a new series in Vancouver, and it just might be Agent Carter.
Insider sources have revealed to CBM that Marvel and ABC are preparing to start filming for a new television series in the very near future. Their source says the series is working under the production title, "That Old Chestnut," and Marvel and ABC will be sinking a ton of money into it, with a budget much higher than your normal TV show. CBM's source also say security has been incredibly tight on the project, and said, "that in his twenty years of experience, he hasn't seen this level of devotion to security." According to their source, Marvel wants to start principal photography by June at the latest.
But is Marvel and ABC working on an Agent Carter series? CBM asked the source, and all he would say is, "Mum's the word."
What do you think? Will we be getting a television series about Agent Carter soon, or is Marvel working on something else? Since ABC is involved and not Netflix I doubt this is for any of the upcoming series featuring Daredevil, Luke Cage and others, but if it's not those or Agent Carter, then what? I guess we'll know once more details have been leaked and/or announced.
The next Marvel film to hit theaters will be CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER on April 4th, 2014.
