Marvel shows, including Daredevil, reportedly leaving Netflix next month

As if the wounds haven’t ever healed after Netflix canceled all of their Marvel shows, now they just want to pour some salt into them if this reported news is true. It would appear that Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher, and The Defenders, are set to leave the streamer on March 1, at least in the UK.

GameRadar is reporting that Netflix has confirmed in a pop-up message on each show that the Marvel shows will now only be available to watch on the platform until Match 1. The publication confirmed this to only be the case in the UK but it’s also being reported that the removal also “seems to be the case in other regions.”

Netflix hasn’t come out and confirmed the report and, if this does happen, there’s no word where the interconnected series will be housed instead. Some have speculated that the Netflix shows could end up on Disney+ where the other in-house produced Marvel shows have found their home. This is definitely plausible now that Disney has the rights to the characters.

This also stresses how important physical media is. My first thought when I heard this news was that I needed to get all three seasons of Daredevil on Blu-Ray. There really is no guarantee that these shows will live forever on these streaming services and if we went to preserve them as fans, we need to keep physical media alive.

Where do YOU think the Netflix Marvel shows will end up?
