Samuel L. Jackson‘s Nick Fury is getting replaced as the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., and the seasoned one-eyed wonder is not happy about his demotion. In a new ad for the brand-new game Marvel Snap, Fury storms into a S.H.I.E.L.D. office to voice his outrage about losing a position he’s held for over a decade. After explaining that there’s nothing they can do about the new chain of command, Fury meets his replacement, a young and bubbly gamer with a knack for building the ultimate superhero team.

Marvel Snap unleashes the complete Marvel Multiverse into a fast-paced, adrenaline-pumping, strategic card battler. The game is like Hearthstone or Magic: The Gathering Arena, but with Marvel characters at your disposal. Assemble your team from a limitless dream roster of Super Heroes and Villains, collect endless card art variants, and experience super-powered play—all in just three minutes.

I’ve been waiting to play Marvel Snap since last year. A friend of mine got into the beta and wouldn’t shut up about it. I downloaded the game this morning, and I’m happy to report it’s a blast. I typically tap out of card builder games early, but I feel I’ll hang with this one for a while. The gameplay is fast and furious and makes you feel like a badass, thanks to the polished visuals, card effects, and stacked roster of characters to unlock. I highly recommend giving it a shot.

The new Marvel Snap ad is pretty hilarious. I love Fury’s incredulity as the news rains down on his parade. The cool thing about Marvel Snap is that anyone can feel powerful after a few game rounds. Rather than drip-feed players new characters and mechanics, the game provides you with plenty of powerful toys from Marvel’s super-powered toybox. I will probably put Diablo Immortal to the side for a while to dig into this new game to wipe the floor with the friend who recommended it to me. Mwahaha!
