Marvel casts Amy Acker as its female lead for Fox’s untitled x-men pilot

Do you hear that? It's the sound of fanboys and girls rejoicing in the streets as it's just been announced that A PERSON OF INTEREST and ANGEL actress Amy Acker will star as the female lead in Fox and Marvel's Untitled X-Men pilot. That's right, true believers! Also joining the mutant mayhem will be BUNHEADS actress Emma Dumont and BETWEEN actor Percy Hynes White. This news comes just after it was confirmed yesterday that GOTHAM actress Natalie Alyn Lind has also joined the show's underground mutant community.

Acker has been cast as Kate Stewart, a woman who is wrestling with her separation from her husband, Reed (TRUE BLOOD's Stephen Moyer) and her gifted teenage children. It's being said that when the grave circumstances of Kate's family take a dark turn that she'll have to step up, and discover that she is indeed stronger than she gives herself credit for.

Meanwhile, Emma Dumont will step into the role of Lorna Dane AKA Polaris, a steadfast and loyal mutant who has the ability to manipulate magnetism. Furthermore, Percy Hynes White will act as Andy, an introvert who shies away from the turbulence he faces both at home as well as in school.

Fox and Marvel's Untitled X-Men pilot will focus on two human parents (Moyer and Acker) and their mutant children, who are forced to flee the comfort of their home after their secret is discovered by a shadowy government organization. Once escaped, the family is expected to encounter a group of underground mutants who will usher them into the covert underbelly of a mutant life on the run.

As we've previously reported, the pilot is expected to start filming on March 13, 2017. However, if you're burning for some X-Men-related and R-rated carnage, be sure to check out LOGAN when it slashes into theaters this Friday.
