It almost feels too good to be true; a Martin Scorsese crime-drama starring Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, and Al Pacino? Get the hell outta here. For quite some time it seemed as though THE IRISHMAN would never actually come together. First there was the budget, which will be a sizeable amount due to the digital makeup used to turn back the clock on De Niro, Pesci, and Pacino by decades, and then there was Joe Pesci himself, who had mostly retired from acting and reportedly needed some convincing to return for THE IRISHMAN, but return he did, and production on the much-anticipated flick is currently underway in New York. Thanks to a series of set-photos, we've got our first look at a heart-warming GOODFELLAS reunion. Sniff. So beautiful.
Based upon Charles Brandt’s "I Heard You Paint Houses," THE IRISHMAN will chronicle the career of Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran, a mob hitman who was supposedly involved in the death of Jimmy Hoffa. The film, which will make its home at Netflix, also boasts an embarrassingly excellent cast, in addition to Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Joe Pesci, THE IRISHMAN will also star Harvey Keitel, Bobby Cannavale, Ray Romano, Domenick Lombardozzi, Jack Huston, and Stephen Graham. Dang.
