The upcoming Mark Wahlberg flick HOME INVASION sounds like a killer thriller, and now it has a director to usher it home.
Attached to helm the project is Patrick Hughes, who first hit the scene in 2010 with the Ryan Kwanten Western RED HILL, which stirred up enough buzz for him to helm the gargantuan Hollywood action flick THE EXPENDABLES 3. I can't say I've seen either of those features, but HOME INVASION sounds like an excellent choice for a third film, and I hope he does it justice.
Described as "PANIC ROOM meets DIE HARD", HOME INVASION centers on:
a contractor (Wahlberg) whose artist wife suffers from an illness that prevents her from being in the sunlight and, as such, he builds a futuristic house that blocks out any natural light. When a band of criminals attempts to break into the house to steal one of his wife’s valuable sculptures, he must evade and outsmart them to protect his home.
The screenplay was written by PRISONERS scribe Aaron Guzikowski, who is also penning the new FRIDAY THE 13TH reboot.
