Mark Millar talks Martin Freeman’s “obvious” Captain America: Civil War role

Although there's still no word on Martin Freeman's role in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, comic book writer Mark Millar (Kick-Ass, The Secret Service) knows exactly who the actor will be playing in the upcoming movie.

Millar didn't disclose what Freeman's role will be in the CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER sequel/AVENGERS 2.5 while speaking with Radio Times, however he did say that his character "is not a super-person, it’s somebody who’s… well, I don’t want to spoil it for anybody but he’s not going to be in costume.” Millar also teased “Once you get to see it, it’s so obvious," and joked that he’s not playing the Red Skull. Millar went on to praise Martin Freeman, saying, "He’s a great actor he could play anyone – he could play Hit-Girl!”

Production is underway on the Marvel film, and over the weekend star Sebastian Stan shared a set photo that reveals…nothing. But I'm glad to see Stan was "having a weekend" on the CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR set.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR is set to open on May 6, 2016.
