Keeping Marvel secrets can be hard and sometimes you need to unburden yourself from some of that stress. Marisa Tomei, who has played Aunt May in the Homecoming trilogy of Spider-Man films along with two other MCU entries, needed to tell someone about the secrets in Spider-Man: No Way Home and she claims she spilled the beans to her therapist.
During an interview with BackstageOL, Tomei confessed that she had to let someone know about the ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home and who is better than her therapist, who can’t divulge any information shared in their sessions. She said, “Only my therapist knows the ending. Had to be under oath and I had to tell someone.” Tomei also revealed that her family could care less she’s in Spider-Man by saying “I don’t think anyone gives a sh*t except for nephew who is like six. I don’t think too many people are impressed with me.” Of course, this is all said with a laugh and smile and it’s clear that Tomei is having a little fun as she gets through a tricky press junket where she can’t really reveal much.
As previously reported, No Way Home broke first-day pre-sales records in the States for both the No. 1 and No. 3 theaters, AMC and Cinemark, and also netted their second-best day of pre-sales after Endgame. Needless to say, Spider-Man: No Way Home is about to be huge and is very well in line to be a true return to form for moviegoing during the pandemic.
Spider-Man: No Way Home brings back Tom Holland as Peter Parker aka Spider-Man and he will be joined by Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alfred Molina, Jamie Foxx, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, and J.B. Smoove. The third film will once again be directed by Jon Watts, from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Oh, and then there are those unconfirmed but likely to be true rumors that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are returning as their respective versions of Spider-Man.
Spider-Man: No Way Home swings into theaters on December 17, 2021.
