Warner Bros. is teaming with its SUICIDE SQUAD and THE LEGEND OF TARZAN star Margot Robbie to develop an adaptation of author Gin Phillips' novel BEAUTIFUL THINGS. Robbie will be producing the film through the company LuckyChap Entertainment, which she formed with Tom Ackerley, Josey McNamara, and Sophia Kerr. Also on board to produce the film are Denise Di Novi and Alison Greenspan of Di Novi Pictures.
It's not yet clear if Robbie will end up starring in the film. The story
is set over three hours and tells of a mother and son who are trapped in a zoo with a gunman on the loose.
That is a terrifying concept, and it sounds like the mother character would be a great heroine role for Robbie if she chooses to sign on for it.
Phillips only just sold BEAUTIFUL THINGS to Viking at the end of September. The book is expected to be on store shelves in May of 2017.
