Margot Robbie reveals full title of Birds of Prey and it’s a mouthful

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

The Warner Bros. film which we've been referring to as BIRDS OF PREY seems to have a much longer title, and it's certainly a mouthful. Margot Robbie, who will be reprising her role of Harley Quinn in the upcoming DC Comics film, took to Instagram to post the cover page of Christina Hodson's script, which also happened to included a handwritten addition from the actress.

BIRDS OF PREY will now and forever be known as BIRDS OF PREY (AND THE FANTABULOUS EMANCIPATION OF ONE HARLEY QUINN). Just so you know, I probably won't be writing that out for every BIRDS OF PREY article. For those of you thinking that this is just Margot Robbie putting a little Harley Quinn spin on her copy of the script, THR confirmed with Warner Bros. that this is indeed the official title. I'm still somewhat skeptical, but there you go.

BIRDS OF PREY…sigh, sorry, BIRDS OF PREY (AND THE FANTABULOUS EMANCIPATION OF ONE HARLEY QUINN) will star Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, Rosie Perez as Renne Montoya, Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain, and Ewan McGregor as Black Mask and find Harley Quinn, Huntress, and Black Canary teaming up to protect Cassandra Cain when she comes across a diamond belonging to Black Mask, a kingpin in Gotham City's criminal underworld. Margot Robbie, who initially pitched Warner Bros. on the project, has said that she envisioned it as "R-rated girl gang film including Harley, because I was like, ‘Harley needs friends.’ Harley loves interacting with people, so don’t ever make her do a standalone film. She’s got to be with other people, it should be a girl gang. I wasn’t seeing enough girl gangs on screen, especially in the action space. So that was always a big part of it."

BIRDS OF PREY (AND THE FANTABULOUS EMANCIPATION OF ONE HARLEY QUINN) is set for a February 7, 2020 release.
