Marc Webb’s Spider-Man to get a new J. Jonah Jameson

Since Marc Webb’s SPIDER-MAN is completely separating itself from Sam Raimi’s prior installments it makes sense that he would recast the actors.

So it shouldn’t be much of a surprise that Peter Parker’s rage filed boss at the Daily Bugle, J. Jonah Jameson would get a new face. J.K. Simmons perfectly embodied everything that was Jameson in Raimi’s Spidey series. Hollywood Insider (via /Film) says that the role of Jameson has become one of the hardest to cast.

The site notes that a lot of actors are anxious to take on the role, amongst them John Slattery (MAD MEN) and somehow Sam Elliot’s name is being thrown around. Sam Elliot? Wildcard! I love the guy and his tremendous mustache, but I don’t see them casting him in this role.

No other names were given other than the site’s own suggestion of AVATAR’s Stephen Lang.

Any suggestions for a new Jameson?
