Marc Forster’s World War Z pushed back 6 months, now due June 2013

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

Yeah, this one sucks. To all us anxiously awaiting Marc Forster’s adaptation of epic zombie tome WORLD WAR Z, we’re all gonna have to twirl our motherf*cking thumbs for another 6 months…

Paramount has eyeballed their late 2012 release slate and seen fit to do a little reshuffling. WORLD WAR Z was originally slated to bow this Christmas, on December 21, 2012. It’s now set to contend with next year’s summer blockbuster season, newly pegged to drop June 21, 2013. No real reason for the push-back was given, perhaps the film is neither finished nor fit for an Xmas crowd. Perhaps Paramount doesn’t want to compete with the likes of HUNTER-KILLER, LIFE OF PI and THIS IS FORTY MONSTER, also slated for Dec. 21. As it stands now, WORLD WAR Z will open against Disney’s MONSTER UNIVERSITY next summer.

The story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane, who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself.

Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos (below), Matthew Fox, Elyes Gabel, David Morse and James Badge Dale are a few of the key players in the picture.

Sad I know, but jot it down…WORLD WAR Z is postponed until June 21, 2013.
