The mystery of the missing plane will continue at NBC. It has been announced that the network has renewed their mystery drama series, Manifest, for a third season.
According to "Deadline", Manifest was a lock for renewal if NBC and Warner Bros Television worked out a deal to make it happen. It appears that the decision did come down to the wire as the final financial details were ironed out between the network and producing studio.
Manifest, starring Melissa Roxburgh, Josh Dallas, Athena Karkanis, J.R. Ramirez, Luna Blaise, Jack Messina, Parveen Kaur and Matt Long, follows Montego Air Flight 828 which landed safely after a turbulent but routine flight. What the crew and passengers come to realize is that in the span of those few hours, the world aged five years and their friends, families and colleagues, after mourning their loss, had given up hope and moved on. Now, faced with the impossible, they’re all given a second chance. But as their new realities become clear, a deeper mystery unfolds and some of the returned passengers soon realize they may be meant for something greater than they ever thought possible.
Manifest has been a relatively consistent ratings player for the network. The season 2 finale drew solid numbers, earning a 0.8 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic and 4.58 million viewers, with the series averaging a 1.5 rating in adults 18-49 and 7.7 million viewers in live plus seven, according to Nielsen. As is the case with many of NBC’s recent renewals, Manifest is a strong digital and delayed viewing player which is a direction the network is looking towards as they weigh new levels of success.
