Mama’s horror show

Maybe the last person I thought who would be cast in a horror film would be “Mama” herself, Vicki Lawrence. But it is the case, as the boys over at Fangoria are reporting that Lawrence has been cast in KENTUCKY FRIED HORROR SHOW. Director C.L. Gregory had this to say about the news: “I’m pleased to announce that Vicki Lawrence is now attached.”

In case you didn’t know, Lawrence starred in the ridiculous sitcom MAMA’S FAMILY, in which Lawrence played a verbally abusive, ball-busting granny. Gregory had this to say about the difference between Lawrence’s characters that have made her famous and the one she will play in KENTUCKY FRIED HORROR SHOW: “She is making a huge departure from her normal, comedic roles to a more sadistic one in her portrayal of Treva Moses [the matriarch of the flick’s homicidal backwoods family]. This is going to surprise so many filmgoers who have grown to love and appreciate her past work, but will certainly be of interest to horror fans as she portrays a brutal and sadistic killer—Mama style!”

Along side Lawrence, KENTUCKY FRIED HORROR SHOW will feature a bevy of hotties, like Hilary and Haylie Duff and porn star Joanna. Sounds good to me!
