Maisie Williams responds to New Mutants casting rumors

Last month a report surfaced claiming that Josh Boone's NEW MUTANTS movie will feature Game of Thrones actress Maisie Williams as Wolfsbane/Rahne Sinclair and THE WITCH's Anya Taylor-Joy as Magik/Illya Rasputin, while James McAvoy will reprise his role as Professor X in the X-Men spinoff. FOX quickly denied the report shortly after it was published, but here's what Williams had to say to Entertainment Weekly after being asked about the casting rumors.

I can’t say much about it at all, but I would absolutely love to be a part of it, [and] to be a part of the Marvel family.  New Mutants looks absolutely incredible and I’ve always loved the idea of spin-offs and [director] Joshua Boone is incredibly talented. So, yeah, sign me up.

It might not be a done deal, but maybe Williams is, at the very least, being eyed to play Wolfsbane, and it certainly sounds like she's down for joining the X-Men movie universe. Boone recently turned in a second draft of the script, and FOX has set release dates for two untitled Marvel films, so I wouldn't be surprised if a NEW MUTANTS announcement is made at this year's San Diego Comic-Con. How do you feel about Williams possibly playing Wolfsbane?
