Having directed segments of the anthologies SOUTHBOUND and XX, Roxanne Benjamin has made her full feature debut with the survival thriller BODY AT BRIGHTON ROCK, which she also wrote.
The film's story centers on
a novice park ranger who must spend the night guarding a potential crime scene on a remote mountain trail.
Karina Fontes stars as the ranger. The source of the thrills the ranger will be experiencing are being kept under wraps, so you can let your mind run wild for now. Is it homicidal criminals? A slasher? Some kind of supernatural force? I'm leaning toward the first option.
Co-stars include Casey Adams, Emily Althaus, John Getz, Matt Peters, Miranda Bailey, and Susan Burke.
BODY AT BRIGHTON ROCK has been picked up for distribution by Magnet Releasing, the genre arm of Magnolia and the distributors of one of my all-time favorite films, LET THE RIGHT ONE IN.
Benjamin produced BODY AT BRIGHTON ROCK with Christopher Alender and David A. Smith for Soapbox Films and Protostar Pictures.
We'll let you know when Magnet announces a release date. The film's international distribution rights are still available, and Magnet's head of international sales Lorna Lee Sagebiel-Torres will be representing the project at Berlin's European Film Market.
