AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON is surely the talk of the town this weekend… but Warner Bros.’ MAD MAX: FURY ROAD is making a late play to change that. WB has just released six clips, as well as 18 minutes of B-roll footage, from the George Miller film, all of which you can view below. This major update, combined with the featurette we showed you earlier, is probably as much Mad Max as you could hope for at this stage.
As someone who is almost too excited for this film, I’m going to do my best to avoid the clips below. I’ve seen each of the trailers about 800 times, so I think I’ll abstain from watching these and go into the film as fresh as is feasible at this point. That said, I did take a peek at some of the B-roll footage and it should absolutely quiet any doubters who worried the movie would be too CGI-heavy. These cars, and stunts, are the real deal.
Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa. They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.
