M. Night Shyamalan’s next gets an official title and release date

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

You no longer have to refer to M. Night Shyamalan’s next film as that untitled Shyamalan flick starring James McAvoy and produced by Jason Blum. Today we officially learned its title.

SPLIT is the name of the picture, with the movie being dated for a January release in 2017.

McAvoy will headline after conversations with Joaquin Phoenix didn’t amount to much, with Anya Taylor-Joy, Betty Buckley, Jessica Sula and Haley Lu Richardson also filling out the cast for the suspense thriller.

I wish I could give you a better idea as to what the film is about, but you know Shyamalan and his secrets. So for now, we’ll have to hope he keeps things going on a good path after THE VISIT seems to have righted his ship a bit.

SPLIT is scheduled for release on January 20, 2017.
