The Fast & Furious franchise has always been about family and, like with any family, sometimes key members don’t see eye to eye. In this case, it’s the feud between franchise leader Vin Diesel and one of the biggest movie stars in the world, Dwayne Johnson. Diesel has been there since the beginning while Johnson was brought in for the film’s fifth outing, arguably rejuvenated the franchise, and stuck around for a few sequels and a spinoff. Both members of this Fast Family are important in their own right so what do you do if you’re a part of the family and are compelled to take sides? Well, Ludacris, who has played Tej in the Fast franchise for over a decade, doesn’t feel the need to but he knows the Fast Feud is a delicate situation.
While speaking to “US Weekly“, Ludacris addressed the feud and the constant tension between the two actors. Ludacris clearly has firsthand knowledge of this situation and it appears his stance is that these are two grown adults and he’s not going to speak much on it:
“All I can say is that, from what I understand, I know those are two grown men. I believe The Rock has spoken on that, and I don’t want to speak for either one of them. So, I would leave it to whatever their words are and keep it that way, because it’s a delicate situation.”
Ludacris’ position on this matter is probably the best one to have. The beef is between Johnson and Diesel and, at the end of the day, he’s just there to do a job and not get involved in any nonsense that might arise. That’s not to say this isn’t an awkward situation. These are two men that probably command a certain amount of respect and I’m sure egos also play a part in all of this so for some of the co-stars, it’s probably like watching mom and dad fight. Whose side do you take? It’s probably best to just stay out of it.
