Since their introduction in the very first STAR WARS film, Stormtroopers have become an enduring presence in the franchise as each film has given us a new variation, or two, of the Empire's shock troops. The upcoming STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER will be no different as it will present us with the Sith Trooper, the latest evolution of the First Order soldier.

If you're fortunate enough to attend San Diego Comic-Con next week, Lucasfilm will be putting together a new exhibit of Stormtrooper armour from across the STAR WARS saga, including the Imperial Stormtrooper, TIE pilot, Death Trooper, Shore Trooper, Scout Trooper, First Order Stormtrooper, First Order TIE pilot, Captain Phasma, and Sith Trooper. "It has some really unique aesthetics to it," said Madlyn Burkert, Lucasfilm archivist. "And it has some subtle ties to previous stormtrooper designs, which I think fans will enjoy discovering." The exhibit will include a selection of "Early Release Edition" Sith Trooper products, which is where this first look comes from. You can check out the Hot Toys' 1/6 Scale Sith Trooper figure and Hasbro's The Black Series Sith Trooper figure below.

The rest of the announcement, which you can check out here, includes Sith Trooper backpacks, shirts, mugs, costumes, and more. Gotta sell that merch! Looking forward to seeing the Sith Troopers in action. Daisy Ridley recently said that THE RISE OF SKYWALKER will be different from THE FORCE AWAKENS and THE LAST JEDI. "Genre-wise, it’s different from the other two, which will become clear when the film comes out. It's quite emotional," Ridley explained. "There's a different drive than the previous two films, but there's a lot of fun. I really missed John (Boyega) during the last one, but we're back together and now Oscar (Isaac) is part of it. To me, it felt like kids going on an adventure."

STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER will hit theaters on December 20, 2019.
