Love Antosha trailer honors the life, career of Anton Yelchin

Almost three years ago to the day Hollywood lost one of its brightest stars in actor Anton Yelchin, who died at age 27. The actor of such films as the new STAR TREK movies, FRIGHT NIGHT, CHARLIE BARTLETT, GREEN ROOM and more was found dead on June 19, 2016, the victim of a freak accident where he was pinned between his Jeep Grand Cherokee and a brick pillar after the car rolled back down his driveway. Fans and colleagues mourned the loss, but now they have a chance to see a side of his life very few ever have in the new documentary LOVE ANTOSHA, which looks back on his career and life that were both tragically cut short.

Featuring interviews with his mother and colleagues like Simon Pegg, Chris Pine, JJ Abrams, Bryce Dallas Howard, Kristen Stewart and many more, the documentary examines his life, image away from the public, his other creative efforts and process and more. The doc makes use of tons of archival footage and photos, including home movies and his personal photography work, which in the trailer alone shows a whole new side to the actor.

The documentary debuted at Sundance earlier this year where it was hailed as a "heartbreaking" portrait of the actor that reaffirms the impact one person can have on countless lives. The movie certainly looks illuminating and tearjerking, and this is sure to be one for films fans to keep an eye out for.

Here's the synopsis:

Through his journals and other writings, his photography, the original music he wrote, and interviews with his family, friends, and colleagues, this film looks not just at Anton’s impressive career, but at a broader portrait of the man. Born in the former Soviet Union to a family of artists, Anton and his parents came to the U.S. when he was six months old. He started acting at nine. He had a genuine curiosity and love for people, for art, and for family. And a willingness to explore, and be open with, the darker parts of himself. Love, Antosha explores his successes and his struggles, and let’s viewers get to know this extraordinary person the world was cheated from seeing grow old.
