Y’know, there’s just something about Liam Neeson running with a gun that inspires the tinglies of badassery. Beyond that, seeing Maggie Grace in skimpy clothing and Famke Janssen in a loving embrace that looks almost too loving for the situation is even better. All of that can mean only one thing; new stills for TAKEN 2, the follow-up to the smash hit, which featured Neeson as the man-with-a-particular-set-of-skills wreaking havoc on the men who kidnapped his daughter. In the sequel, directed by Olivier Megaton (COLUMBIANA), Neeson will take the fight to the extended family of the villains from the first film as they set out for revenge against the former agent and current bad ass.
Get your passport ready:
Here’s the official synopsis to this complex thriller:
Liam Neeson returns as Bryan Mills, the retired CIA agent with a particular set of skills who stopped at nothing to save his daughter Kim from Albanian kidnappers. When the father of one of the kidnappers swears revenge, and takes Bryan and his wife hostage during their family vacation in Istanbul, Bryan enlists Kim to help them escape, and uses the same advanced level of special forces tactics to get his family to safety and systematically take out the kidnappers one by one.
I love Neeson in this role and can’t wait to see the absolute action-riffic absurdity that the sequel will surely bring. It may not be the smartest series, but it’s a hell of a lot of fun, due mostly to Neeson, who simply owns in the role of Bryan Mills.
TAKEN 2 will find you on October 5, 2012.
