Xena: Warrior Princess ran for six years, from 1995 to 2001. Some might say that's enough, but the hardcore fans disagree. Recently, NBC has also joined their ranks, planning a reboot of the show. The remake will continue to be produced by original helmers Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert, who seem committed to only revive their backlog of titles until the end of time. If Ash vs. Evil Dead is any indication, this is not a bad idea.
The development has taken a step forward today, when NBC announced that they hired Lost's Javier Grillo-Marxuach to pen the series and executive produce. Marxuach has also written for shows like Charmed, Medium, and even did an episode of the surprisingly long-lived Dead Zone TV series on USA.
His experience with the mystical and – dare I say – charmed makes him a pretty good fit for the series. If it has to happen, they at least seem to be going the right direction with their behind the scenes talent. More on this story as it gets explored!
