Loki: Chris Hemsworth cameo tucked into recent episode

Loki, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Disney+, Marvel

The sixth and final episode of Loki will launch tomorrow, hopefully answering all the major questions that have been introduced as Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) attempt to uncover the true master behind the Time Variance Authority. As with most Marvel Cinematic Universe projects, you can bet that it will be filled with easter eggs and references, but it will have a hard time topping the amount of goodies found in the previous episode, which was positively jam-packed.

One of my favourite easter eggs in the last episode of Loki was the brief appearance of Throg, the frog variant of Thor who was seen trapped in a jar, desperately trying to reach Mjolnir. The little nod to Throg was lovely just as it was, but Loki director Kate Herron revealed another level to the easter egg when she told For All Nerds that none other than Chris Hemsworth voiced the character.

We recorded Chris Hemsworth for that, by the way. His voice going 'Ahhh!' That's a whole new recording. Not recycled. He recorded that.

Love it. I can only hope this isn't the last we've seen of Throg. Chris Hemsworth will be returning as the human version of Thor in Taika Waititi's Thor: Love and Thunder, which also stars Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Chris Pratt as Peter Quill, Jamie Alexander as Lady Sif, Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher, Taika Waititi as Korg, and Russell Crowe as Zeus. Thor: Love and Thunder is slated to hit theaters on May 6, 2022. The last episode of Loki will debut on Disney+ tomorrow, and although it hasn't been confirmed, a second season is said to be in development.
