Jordan Peele has been taking on quite a number of projects following the enormous success of GET OUT, including The Hunt, an upcoming Amazon TV series set in the 1970s which chronicles the pursuit and capture of Nazis who escaped justice following World War II.
Amazon gave The Hunt a straight-to-series ten-episode order earlier this year and it has now been reported that Logan Lerman (THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER) is in talks to star. The series takes place in New York City in 1977 and follows a group of Nazi hunters who discover that there are hundreds of high-ranking Nazi officials living among us and conspiring to create a Fourth Reich in the U.S. The eclectic team of Hunters then set out on a bloody quest in order to bring the Nazis to justice and thwart their new genocidal plans. Should Logan Lerman sign on, he would play Jonah Heidelbaum, a young man whose grandmother is slain by a mysterious intruder in their apartment. As he tracks down the culprit, Jonah finds himself swept up in the mysterious organization known as The Hunt, a group of justice-seeking individuals dedicated to rooting out the Nazi murderers living in the U.S. under assumed identities. The series will draw from real-life events but was created and written by David Weil (Moonfall) with Jordan Peele serving as executive producer.
In addition to The Hunt, Jordan Peele is also behind CBS All Access' revival of The Twilight Zone, a four-part Lorena Bobbitt documentary series, the HBO series Lovecraft Country, a remake of CANDYMAN, and of course, he'll be following up GET OUT with US, a new horror film starring Lupita Nyong'o, Winston Duke, Elisabeth Moss, and Tim Heidecker which will be released on March 15, 2019.
