It has only been three weeks since we last shared some news about the upcoming Netflix series based on Joe Hill's IDW comic book series Locke & Key, but the show's producers have been quite busy continuing to build the cast in that time.
Since our last report, Bill Heck, Petrice Jones, Thomas Mitchell Barnet, Asha Bromfield, Kolton Stewart, Felix Mallard, and Eric Graise have all been confirmed to have roles on the show.
Emilia Jones, Connor Jessup, and Jackson Robert Scott star in the horror-fantasy series as
siblings Kinsey, Tyler and Bode who, after the gruesome murder of their father, move to their ancestral home in Massachusetts only to find the house has magical keys that give them a vast array of powers and abilities. Little do they know, a devious demon also wants the keys, and will stop at nothing to attain them.
Previously announced cast members include Darby Stanchfield as the Locke siblings' mother Nina, Griffin Gluck as Kinsey's friend Gabe, Sherri Saum as a teacher with a mysterious history, Steven Williams as a teacher who connects with the Locke family, Laysla De Oliveira as a sinister demon named Dodge, and Kevin Alves as Tyler's friend Javi.
Bill Heck is playing the ill-fated Rendell Locke; Petrice Jones will be Kinsey's friend Scot, "a massive horror movie nerd and the ringleader of the Savini Squad – a group of teen misfits named for famed special effects artist Tom Savini"; Thomas Mitchell Barnet is playing a troubled, sensitive young man named Sam Lesser, whose vulnerability makes him a target for Dodge's manipulation; Asha Bromfield has a recurring role as Zadie, "a spunky, horror nerd and lone female member of the Savini Squad – until Kinsey arrives"; Kolton Stewart's character is Brinker Martin, captain of the hockey team; Felix Mallard is set to play the recurring role of Lucas Caravaggio, "a charming teenager whose exposure to magic leads to serious complications"; and Eric Graise, an actor who happens to be a double amputee, is taking on the role of a character named Logan Calloway.
Possible cast members who have not been officially confirmed include Hallea Jones as Eden Hawkins and Genevieve Kang as Jackie Veda.
Locke & Key began filming earlier this month, with the first two episodes being directed by Michael Morris. Morris has previously directed episodes of Better Call Saul, Preacher, 13 Reasons Why, House of Cards, Bloodline, Billions, and Shameless.
Cast members playing Lockes have been sharing pictures of the family together on social media. Some of those can be seen below.
The Netflix version of Locke & Key was created by Hill and developed by Carlton Cuse, Aron Eli Coleite, and Meredith Averill. Hill wrote the first episode with Coleite. Cuse and Averill are the showrunners.
