More keys, more magic, and more supernatural creepiness are on the way. Netflix has released the Locke and Key season 2 trailer that gives us a look at what the series has in store for us.

Based upon the comic series by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodríguez, Locke and Key centers around Tyler (Conner Jessup), Kinsey (Emilia Jones), and Bode Locke (Jackson Robert Scott), three siblings who, after the gruesome murder of their father, move to their ancestral home in Maine only to find the house contains magical keys that grant them a vast array of potentially dangerous powers and abilities. What the Locke family doesn’t know is that there’s a malevolent demon who dwells in the shadows of their home who desires the keys and will stop at nothing to possess them.

With danger lurking closer than they know, Locke and Key season 2 will follow Tyler, Kinsey and Bode as they unlock more family secrets and dig deeper into the power and mystery of the keys. While I haven’t watched the first season for myself yet, I did make my way through the comic series at the suggestion of my friend and colleague, Steve Seigh. It was a lot of fun and the imagination on display was quite impressive, so I’ll probably check out the Netflix series before too long.

The streaming service seems to be a fan of Locke and Key as well as they already renewed the series for a third season last year. “Carlton and Meredith have built an incredible world in ‘Locke and Key’ and we’re excited to have the Lockes return for more in the third season,” said Brian Wright, vice president of overall deals for Netflix. “I’m delighted to expand our creative partnership with Meredith Averill, a talented creator with a keen eye for best-in-class horror and supernatural storytelling.

Locke and Key season 2 will debut on Netflix on October 22nd.
