#1 – FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH
The ultimate sex comedy, FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH served as the inspiration for more than half of the films on this list. Everything about the movie is about sex, pregnancy, dating, and growing up. Plus, who can ever forget the moment they first saw Phoebe Cates get out of that pool? I know that I will never forget it.
#2 – AMERICAN PIE
Every generation has their definitive film and for those graduating high school at the turn of the millennium, it was AMERICAN PIE. A movie that ushered in countless catch phrases and reignited the sex comedy for a new generation, AMERICAN PIE remains the best film in the series and the world’s true introduction to Tara Reid, Mena Suvari, and the absolutely stunning Shannon Elizabeth. Plus, you see a guy f*ck a pie…who would have thought that would ever happen?
#3 – REVENGE OF THE NERDS
Take the sexual antics of ANIMAL HOUSE, combine it with the nerd-centric comedy of WEIRD SCIENCE and you get REVENGE OF THE NERDS. While the sequels failed to match the classic first film, they all share the exploitation nature of the series pitting the nerds against the jocks. Plus you get a tasty selection of hot girls in between.
#4 – RISKY BUSINESS
Most people remember RISKY BUSINESS for the Tom Cruise underwear dance, but they fail to remember that the bulk of the movie’s plot surrounds Cruise and Rebecca De Mornay’s character and the coming of age involved with their sexual encounter. Part comedy, part drama, and all classic, RISKY BUSINESS is a movie more people know of rather than have actually seen.
#5 – WEIRD SCIENCE
John Hughes made a career out of coming of age tales, but WEIRD SCIENCE is his most purely sexual film. FRANKENSTEIN crossed with the libido of two dorks with hard-ons, WEIRD SCIENCE definitely has a positive message at it’s core about being yourself, but with Kelly LeBrock in the sexiest cut-off shirt ever. Come for the masturbation jokes, stay for the party scene.
#6 – EVERYTHING YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT SEX (BUT WERE AFRAID TO ASK)
Woody Allen’s sketch film is one of my personal favorites from his entire career. Working in short form allowed Allen to explore jokes without beating a dead horse. Instead we get glimpses into every conceivable type of sexual question you could have and some you never thought to ask. We get the inner workings of the human body during intercourse and even a love story featuring Gene Wilder and a sheep. This movie may be over 40 years old but it is still just as fresh and hilarious now as it ever was.
#7 – KNOCKED UP
Judd Apatow has made a career out of movies about sex. While I was tempted to select THE 40-YEAR-OLD VIRGIN, I feel that KNOCKED UP tells an even better story about what becoming a man means. Seth Rogen was at the top of his game while Katherine Heigl was tolerable for the last time. But, the entire supporting cast including Jay Baruchel, Jonah Hill, Jason Segel, Paul Rudd, and Leslie Mann combine to make this one of the funniest cautionary sex tales ever.
#8 – PORKY’S
Ah, PORKY’S. Considered one of the most misogynistic movies ever made, PORKY’S is also one of the most sexually charged comedies ever made. Full of explicit humor and boob shots, the movie has lived in infamy and is usually instantly recognized by it’s title. The movie runs on an almost feature length dick joke which is an achievement rarely matched.
#9 – HAROLD AND MAUDE
Hal Ashby’s bizarre black comedy is one of the most unconventional romances you will ever see. Before you turn your nose up at the prospect of a 20 year old falling in love with a 79 year old, wait until you see how endearing and hilarious it can be. The sexual dynamic between Harold and Maude rivals that of most studio pairings and you will find yourself rooting for them to be together.
#10 – THE GIRL NEXT DOOR
An underrated comedy starring Elisha Cuthbert, Timothy Olyphant, and Emile Hirsch, THE GIRL NEXT DOOR starts out like a typical teen sex comedy but adds the twist that the girl is actually a former porn star. Cuthbert is incredibly sexy but it is the heart behind the movie that actually makes it stand above the rest.
