2020 Sony Pictures Preview

Last Updated on August 3, 2021

Sony did not have the greatest 2019. Outside of SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME's $390 million domestic gross and JUMANJI: THE NEXT LEVEL with $257 million, their next biggest hit at the box office for the studio was Quentin Tarantino's ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD which grossed $141 million domestically. After that, their next biggest hit was the bomb MEN IN BLACK INTERNATIONAL which came in with only $82 million followed by ZOMBIELAND: DOUBLE TAP with $72 million. 2020 looks to be a rebound year for the studio with some major franchises returning including BAD BOYS and GHOSTBUSTERS not to mention VENOM 2 and the latest Spider-man spin-off, MORBIUS. Sony could make a big dent in the box office to start the year (THE GRUDGE in January) and at the end (UNCHARTED in December).

Take a look at the full slate of 2020 releases coming from Sony below.
