At long last, Matthew Vaughn’s KICK-ASS has finally found a distributor. In a deal only described as “big,” Lionsgate has stepped up to the plate and says they’ll give the film a wide release in 2010. Hear that everyone? Now breathe.
After a sneak peek at Comic Con, many were wondering why the film had yet to be picked up, since what they saw, for lack of a better phrase, kicked ass. But now with Lionsgate behind it, fans will no longer have to fear the project being shuffled to only a handful of theaters or DVD.
In case you missed it the first time, here’s a (bootlegged) reminder of why this project needed to see the light of day. Now that it’s actually getting a wide release, how about giving us a clean version of this trailer soon?
