Don’t call it a comeback! Lindsay Lohan is getting back to making movies and she’s getting into bed with Netflix. It has been previously announced that Lohan would star in the holiday romantic comedy Falling for Christmas for the streamer and now, per Deadline, it has been announced that the actress signed a new two-picture deal with the platform to star in an additional two films. This means we have no less than three features coming from the Mean Girls star.
The films in question that will feature Lohan have not been announced but it’s a big deal that Netflix is willing to get into business with her. The once-promising child star, who starred in hits like The Parent Trap, Freaky Friday, and Mean Girls, saw her fair share of troubles throughout the 2000s as she became known more for court appearances rather than her film roles. Time has settled Lohan has she stepped out of the harsh lights of Hollywood to focus on herself. That move has proven to be beneficial because she appears to be in a great place now and seems ready to get back out there to reclaim the career she left behind. Netflix’s Director of Independent Film, Christina Rogers said in a statement, “We’re so happy with our collaboration with Lindsay to date, and we’re thrilled to continue our partnership with her. We look forward to bringing more of her films to our members around the world.”
In Falling for Christmas, Lohan plays a newly engaged, spoiled hotel heiress who gets into a skiing accident and suffers from total amnesia. She then finds herself in the care of a handsome, blue-collar lodge owner (Chord Overstreet) and his precocious daughter in the days leading up to Christmas. The film is expected to hit the streamer before Christmas of this year.
