The spookiest show on television has just nabbed another familiar face.
The Hollywood Reporter dropped the news that Lily Rabe has apparently signed on for the mysterious third season of the FX anthology series AMERICAN HORROR STORY, joining the already announed Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters in an unspecified role.
Series creator Ryan Murphy took to Twitter yesterday with a post that read “So thrilled to announce Lily Rabe is onboard for American Horror Story Season Three! So talented, love her!”.
Rabe is no stranger to the weird world of AMERICAN HORROR STORY, portraying Nora Montgomery, the ghost of a previous resident of the Murder House, in the series first season. In AMERICAN HORROR STORY: ASYLUM Rabe returned in a much bigger role as Sister Mary Eunice, a sweet and innocent nun who became possessed by the devil who roamed Briarcliff.
As with the previous seasons, AMERICAN HORROR STORY’s third season will completely change the setting and the time frame of the story, with the cast assuming all new roles. All that is currently known about the new season is that it will be set during the present and that it will once again feature a Romeo and Juliet style romance, with Murphy stating “I’m also interested in getting into a horror romance. That’s certainly something that’s going to be in the water for season three.”
AMERICAN HORROR STORY season 3 is set to haunt us this October on FX.
